Remodeling A Space

  1. Initial Meeting ~ Approximately 1-2 hours: It’s helpful if you have pictures of designed spaces that have caught your eye for reference.  Please assure all decision makers are present at  his meeting and be prepared to assign one primary contact person for future decision making.
    1. Review scope of your entire project – This includes your goals, budget and the services I provide in more detail.If you decide you’d like to hire me we will review and sign a Letter of Agreement, complete an Interior Design Services checklist and a down payment is made. I will describe in detail the services you will receive from me as your Interior Design Consultant.
    2. I will have you review some pictures and product materials so I can get an idea of your style and texture preferences.
    3. I will provide you a general lifestyle questionnaire to complete which gives me insight as to how to design your space based on your lifestyle and tastes.
    4. I will take space measurements to reproduce/redesign your space layout and for general support of visual size, and quantity of products/materials/furnishings depending on scope of work involved.
    5. Take ‘before’ pictures of areas involved and ‘favorite’ items to consider is design.
  2. Design Concept ~ Allow 2 – 4 weeks: Using my Interior Design software program, I will present visual renderings for your feedback over the next several weeks until you are happy with the proposed design. This helps save time during the selection process if we can coordinate your general design concept through this process.
  3. Selection Meeting(s) ~ Allow 2 hours each: We will schedule times to meet at showroom(s) to make specific selections for products and materials identified on your Interior Design Services checklist and to coordinate your design concept.Depending on scope of work desired, we will schedule selection meetings with regards to which items/products require the most lead time to receive or to complete detailed design; I.e. cabinetry, flooring, tile, or solid surface counter tops.
  4. Ordering Products/Materials ~ Allow 4 – 6 weeks: 
    1. Estimates will be collected on all products and materials selected prior to expediting any orders to assure we are staying on budget.
    2. Once you approve the selections and estimated costs, orders will be placed through your General Contractor’s account at vendors, or through Design Trade programs to assure you best pricing.
    3. In keeping with the Construction schedule, orders will be placed well in advance to assure products have arrival and are on site before needed by trade contractors for installation.
  5. Accessorizing ~ Once the hard surfaces and construction is completed, we can finalize the finishing touches with furnishings, artwork, window treatments, as desired.
